F. Oui! is a full service textile and surface design studio founded by Ellen Barten, serving the fashion and interiors markets.
Ellen's background in architecture and interior design and lifelong passion for drawing and art has led her to produce a prolific and ever-growing collection of fresh and inspiring prints. In her cross-disciplinary design work, patterns are often a primary focus.
Currently, Ellen also runs a New York City gardening business - Jane Gil Gardens. The many gardens and changing seasons provide constant stream of floral and botanical inspirations.
Global travel experiences and the rich environment of New York City provide constant fodder for innovation in design. Adventures in West Africa, India, China and Europe have contributed to Ellen's eclectic style- mixing east, west, traditional and avant-garde influences.

Although the prints end up in a digital format, a majority of times they start by hand.
Drawing, watercolors, collage, and hands-on experimentation are integral to the F.Oui! creative process.
